The Victoria Hotel Alderney

About the hotel            About the island

The building which houses the Victoria hotel has been in existence since the mid nineteenth century, and can be seen on the left in this photo of the island's celebrations for the coronation of King George V (1911).

Today Alderney offers a wealth of activities including;

fishing, diving, golf, flying, walking, birdwatching, or just relaxing

The island is surrounded by British forts dating back to the 19th century. Fort Clonque, shown here, is accessed by a causeway but is cut off by the sea during high tides.

The island is a secluded haven, and those who visit never fail to be charmed by the experience.

The island's beaches are beautiful and largely deserted. Click for a larger photo.
